Questions concerning online-tickets from ALBERTINA

How to proceed if you do not receive a confirmation email containing your ticket(s) and invoice?
Your confirmation and ticket(s) will be sent to the email address you provide. Please make sure that you have entered the correct email address. It can take up to one business day to send the confirmation. If you do not receive an email, be sure to check your spam folder as well. Please contact us at onlineshop@albertina.at if you experience any problems.

You will receive your invoice shortly after you receive your confirmation. If you do not receive an invoice, please contact onlineshop@albertina.at.
Who can I contact with questions concerning online tickets?
If you have any questions concerning tickets, please contact the ALBERTINA directly at onlineshop@albertina.at. Please note that inquiries are only processed on weekdays (Monday through Friday, except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
How can I cancel a ticket?
Unused tickets can be canceled within fourteen (14) days of purchase. You may cancel your purchase. Please contact us at onlineshop@albertina.at.
What format is required to present the online ticket when visiting the ALBERTINA or the ALBERTINA MODERN?
We accept digital and printed tickets. In either case, the barcode must be fully legible.

If you do not print out your ticket, simply bring your smartphone or tablet PC with the email we sent you when you visit the museum. Please ensure that your smartphone or tablet PC battery is sufficiently charged.

Senior citizens, children under 19, young adults from 19 to 26 and visitors with special needs who have obtained a discounted ticket must present a valid ID in addition to their ticket, proving they are eligible for the discount.
Which exhibitions can I visit with the online ticket?
Tickets to the ALBERTINA entitle you to visit all of the open exhibitions along with the State Rooms at the location (Albertinaplatz 1).

Tickets to the ALBERTINA MODERN entitle you to visit all of the open exhibitions at the location (Karlsplatz 5).

Tickets to the ALBERTINA & ALBERTINA MODERN entitle you to one-time entry into the ALBERTINA and ALBERTINA MODERN. You may visit the museums on different days as long as your visits fall within the validity period printed on the ticket.

However, please observe the special opening times. Moreover, particularly for conservation reasons, locations, individual exhibitions or exhibition rooms may be closed when special events are held or large numbers of visitors are expected.
How long is the online ticket valid?
If no specific period is indicated on the ticket, then the ticket is valid for one year following the date of purchase.

Tickets that are valid for a specific period may only be redeemed during the period indicated on the ticket.
Can online tickets only be redeemed by the person who purchased them?
Online tickets are not personalized. No name is printed on the ticket. Visitors may be required to present proof of eligibility for a discounted ticket when ticket stubs are taken.

You must provide your personal data when placing your order for invoicing purposes.
Do I need to specify a certain day or time (“time slot”) when purchasing an online ticket?

Currently, no specific time (date, time) can be selected for your museum visit. Please note, that due to the current COVID-Regulations, even with an online ticket, there might be waiting times in front of the building.

Do you offer group discounts?
If you would like to book a group ticket combined with a group tour, please contact ALBERTINA’s art educators at besucher@albertina.at.

When do you respond to inquiries?
Inquiries are only processed on weekdays (Monday through Friday, except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will do our very best to respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible.
I have a valid VAT number. How can I use this?

I am unable to select my country for shipping. Who do I contact?
Please contact us directly at onlineshop@albertina.at. We are happy to check whether it is possible to ship to your country and what the terms and conditions are.
How is my package sent? Can I track the status of my package?
Your order is sent via our partner, the Austrian postal service Österreichische Post AG.

Following order confirmation, you will receive a tracking link that will allow you to check on the status of your delivery.
Can I cancel my order?
As a consumer, you have the right to cancel this contract within a period of fourteen (14) days without stating any reasons.

You can use the right to revocation as a guide.
How can I take advantage of my Friends of the Albertina membership benefits in the Online Shop?
In such cases please contact the ALBERTINA Shop directly at onlineshop@albertina.at; we are happy to advise you.
Can I change my order later on?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your order or add items later on. If you have any change requests, we ask that you submit another order.
Which browser(s) is the online shop optimized for?
The online shop is optimized for most of the currently common browsers (for example: Edge, Chrome, Firefox). Especially older browsers (Internet Explorer) may not display correctly.

School Groups without Guide

When can school groups visit ALBERTINA and/or ALBERTINA MODERN without a Guide?

School classes are welcome at any time during opening hours.

Do I have to annouce a visit in advance? Do I need to book a time slot?

It is not necessary to announce the date of your visit in advance. It is not possible nor necessary to reserve a time slot for your visit with a school class.

Waiting Times

Please note that there may be waiting times depending on the exhibition and season.

Notice Duty of Care

Educators and teachers have a duty of care for their school classes during the visit. Students under the age of 14 are not allowed to visit the museum independently.
