The Chinese-Canadian artist Matthew Wong (1984-2019) was a crossover artist between Far Eastern and Western art, equally influenced by van Gogh and Shitao, who were particularly important for his individual development. Wong, who chose suicide at the age of 35, was a late autodidact: his impressive work was created in the short period of his last eight years.
