The ALBERTINA Museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of drawings, prints and artistic works on paper. Drawing on these rich holdings, the extraordinary show “Fascination Paper” indeed devotes itself to the diversity of this material: Covering multiple eras from the 15th century to the present, the presentation brings together works from the Graphic Art Collection, the Architectural Collection, and the Collection of Contemporary Art. In the process, surprising juxtapositions vividly illustrate paper’s versatility as a medium.

The 260-page catalog accompanies the exhibition, featuring texts by, among others, Katharina Hövelmann, Elsy Lahner, and Eva Michel.
